I was waiting for it to get burnt. (2012)
An actor hides his face, covers himself with dust, throws an object and lies on the ground.
A photograph of a man burning the pitch of a roof and a text where one can read "I was waiting for it to get burnt" construct a twofold installation (photo and video) specially designed for Pavilion.
The video is a kind of 'material hangover’ from his installation I Was not Here (2011), recorded with a camera whose aim was rather to be an audio guide while another camera captured the main image.
The photograph was taken in Istanbul, after witnessing a tram cornered by 'no trespassing' police cordons, due to a bomb threat inside.
The bomb never exploded, nobody knows if it was actually there. The text was written later and proposes a direct dialogue with the photograph, and between the latter and the video and the text, which, by being a take-away version, constructs a link with the outside, from which the video can be seen.

"I WAS NOT HERE",  instalation  for  ESPAI  CULTURAL  CAJA  MADRID,   Barcelona,  solo  show,  2011.

“I Was Not Here” brings together a series of invented images of ‘radical’ topicality as the point of departure for a narrative broken up into sections in an open installation that includes a public intervention, three videos, an audio piece, two almost identical photographs, a sculpture (a piece of metal and glass) and a graphic work that visitors can take with them, created in collaboration with the artist Lydia Lunch. A ‘metallic found object’ recurs as image and as material in the circulation areas, acting as a trigger and as a guide towards solving a supposed problem that cannot be deciphered.
